Services at an inner city Brisbane wharf have been suspended and part of the city is closed after a man threatening self-harm tied his boat up to the ferry terminal.
A 100-metre exclusion zone was set up at the Eagle Street Pier on Brisbane River after the 54-year-old man alerted police about 5am (AEST).
The riverside walkway, Eagle Street pier, riverside ferry terminals, along with the Eagle Street city area and the Brisbane River between Holman and Thornton streets are all closed. Police Inspector Shane Dall'Osto (Dall'Osto) told reporters that officers were negotiating with the man.
"At 5am (AEST) this morning, a man moored his boat here at Riverside Centre," he said.
"Police are here negotiating and talking to the man and we hope to have a peaceful resolution."

Insp Dall'Osto refused to respond to questions about whether the threat of self-harm involved igniting a jerry can on board.
He said the man was alone on the boat. Fellow yachtie and friend, Mack (MACK), told reporters he was a "lovely lovely bloke". "It's possibly a call for help," he said at the scene.
("Although) he wouldn't be seeking or anticipating attention of this scale."
