The Pirate Party of Australia will be fielding eight Senate candidates at the upcoming federal election.
With candidates in Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales, this will be the first federal election for the party, the Australian branch of which was founded in 2009.
The tech-savvy party will be running on policy platforms centred on civil liberties such as freedom of speech, privacy and opposition to censorship.
Brendan Molloy, Councillor and Lead Senate Candidate for New South Wales, spoke to Laura Murphy-Oates.
