Assessment due
He'll be moved on Monday to the nearby Brisbane Correctional Centre, a Corrective Services spokesman said.
He said Patel, 60, would then undergo an assessment to determine which jail will be his permanent home.
Patel will be eligible for parole in three and a half years for his crimes, which relate to his time as director of surgery at the Bundaberg Base Hospital between 2003 and 2005.
