Pedestrian struck on Vic motorway

A man is dead after being struck by a car while walking down a Victoria freeway in the early hours.

A man has died after being hit by a car while walking along a motorway southwest of Melbourne with two others.

Police say the trio were travelling on a bus on the Princes Highway towards Geelong when an argument broke out, and they got off the bus in Little River about 12.40am on Sunday.

The group were walking along the freeway when they began arguing again, and as one man crossed on to the wrong side of the road he was hit by a car.

He died at the scene.
