'Pedo' reporter to learn fate next month

Disgraced journalist Ben McCormack will be sentenced on child porn offences next month, with a judge describing the case as "not typical".

Former Nine Network reporter Ben McCormack will wait more than a month to find out his fate after pleading guilty to child pornography offences.

McCormack last week pleaded guilty to two counts of using a carriage service to transmit, publish or promote child pornography after a new agreed statement of facts was presented to the court.

Court documents previously revealed McCormack referred to himself as a "total b loving pedo" and "proud ped" in online conversations with another man.

Each of his charges carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.

Asked whether he believed his client would be sent to prison, McCormack's lawyer Sam Macedone replied: "I have got no idea."

He is due to be sentenced on November 24.
