The NSW treasurer is playing coy when it comes to his federal budget wishlist but it's already known there'll be some big bucks for Badgerys Creek Airport, the Snowy Hydro buyback and a new bridge in Nowra.
Dominic Perrottet has praised the Turnbull government's decision to scrap the planned Medicare levy increase and demanded NSW receive its fair share of the GST.
But the Liberal treasurer has refused to be drawn on what specific projects he'd like to see funded in Tuesday night's budget to be handed down in Canberra.
"Like all great Liberal treasurers Scott Morrison will be making careful and fiscally responsible decisions that will see the federal budget return to surplus in coming years," Mr Perrottet told AAP in a statement.
"NSW is keen to advocate that we receive our fair share of the GST pie to fund the infrastructure and services that our people need."
The commonwealth has already committed to help pay for a rail line to the new federally-funded Western Sydney Airport with Canberra matching Macquarie Street's $50 million for a business case to finalise a route.
The federal government in the 2017 budget said it was open to acquiring outright ownership of Snowy Hydro from the NSW and Victorian governments.
And in March this year it announced the deal had been done with NSW set to receive $4.15 billion and Victoria to pocket $2.08 billion for their shareholdings.
Meanwhile, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian is hoping to see federal money flow towards her state's multi-billion dollar infrastructure undertaking.
"Of course any support from the federal government in relation to our major infrastructure program would be welcome and I'll be watching with everybody else to see what happens," Ms Berejiklian said.
"We always look forward to seeing what the states receive."
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull late last week confirmed his government would set aside $155 million for a new bridge in Nowra while a week earlier it announced $25 million for a new monument at the Kurnell landing site of Captain James Cook.
The NSW government has off its own bat committed some $22.3 billion for infrastructure projects including the controversial $16 billion WestConnex road network.
