Superstar sporting allrounder Ellyse Perry believes "the sky's the limit" as women's cricketers eye a larger slice of the financial pie.
With the booming WBBL once again boasting bumper TV ratings and women's cricket fast moving into the professional era, long-time former England captain Charlotte Edwards says "players should be paid accordingly".
Already among the highest women's earners, Perry is loath to push the envelope during pay negotiations with Cricket Australia.
But the dual international and Sydney Sixers star says she's encouraged by player demands to have one MOU agreement for all crickets regardless of gender.
"There's been so many fantastic developments and improvements in the women's game the last couple of years and it's only going to continue and grow," Perry said on Thursday.
"I genuinely think the sky's the limit for women's cricket and women's sport in general, not only in Australia but around the world.
"(Women's cricket) is one of the fastest growing things. There's more and more people tuning in and probably our main goal is to inspire young girls to play sport and the sky's the limit there and wherever it (pay) ends up, that'd be great."
While the top 10 men's earners in Australian cricket receive upwards of $1 million annually, the average player pockets just $15,000 for featuring in the summer-long WBBL.
Edwards hopes women one day receive equal pay.
"The game is moving quickly and .... it's suddenly your job and therefore it is your livelihood and the more exposure we get with these competitions, then players should be paid accordingly," Edwards told AAP.
"I think it's a bit of a kind of wait and see (situation) and if this (competition) is a huge success again, then who knows, probably the salaries will be raised and hopefully that's only good for the game.
"But it's got to be right and we've got to get the product right first, but I'm sure that will take care of itself."
