It's the personal mantra driving Ellyse Perry's record-breaking WBBL season.
"There's a really cool saying that if you're not trying to change the game, you're playing someone else's game," the Sydney Sixers star said.
And change the game is exactly what the 28-year-old allrounder has done this year, breaking records with the bat which look unlikely to be challenged anytime soon.
Heading into Saturday's semi-final double header, which will see the Sixers take on the Renegades for a place in the final, Perry has tonked 690 runs this campaign to leave her rivals in the dust.
From her 14 innings, she was put on two centuries and five half-centuries for an average of 86.25.

By comparison, Sophie Devine is next on the batting leaderboard with 556 while Meg Lanning has the second highest average with 48.62.
In the first two seasons of the WBBL, Lanning topped the scorers' list with 560 (2015-16) and 502 (16-17) before Perry assumed the mantle in 2017-18 with 552.
And you get the feeling she isn't done with yet as she prepares to take on the Renegades at Drummoyne Oval, her club home and a ground on which she played against men in a grade T20 match in 2010.
"You look at what's possible," Perry said.
"I really believe in the sense that at the moment the sky is the limit for every team. Each year it's bigger and better and if you're being chased, you've got to find new ways to evolve what you're doing.
"That's something I'm incredibly proud of the group for embracing."
Renegades skipper Amy Satterthwaite, who will miss the final should her side advance because of New Zealand international duties, said her side had no other option than to spend part of their preparation making plans for Perry.
"You can't go past it and you have to do some planning," Satterthwaite said.
"No one can miss the form that she's been in - it's been pretty phenomenal and I think it'll be pretty hard to beat in the years to come."
The Sixers are searching for their third straight title while the Sydney Thunder will take on the Brisbane Heat for a place in the final.
