Perth captain Martin to miss 3 NBL games

Perth guard and skipper Damian Martin will miss the Wildcats' clash with Brisbane and at least two other NBL games due to an ankle injury.

Perth captain Damian Martin is set to miss at least three NBL matches after being forced into a moon boot because of an ankle injury.

Martin hurt his left ankle in the Wildcats' win on Sunday win over Illawarra.

Scans have cleared the 33-year-old of major damage, but he has been ordered to spend a week in a moon boot to allow inflammation of the joint to settle.

It means he will miss Saturday night's home clash with Brisbane, as well as fixtures against the Hawks and Cairns.

Development player Mason Bragg, who has played 15 games for the Wildcats, will come into the team.

The Wildcats hope Martin will be able to return against the 36ers on January 4 in Adelaide.
