A Perth woman charged with murdering her children has made a brief court appearance.

38-year-old Milka Djurasovic is facing two counts of murder for the deaths of her daughters Tiana, 10, and Mia, 6.

The charges were read to Ms Djurasovic today via video link at the Stirling Gardens Magistrate’s Court.

Ms Djurasovic did not attend court and remains in hospital under police guard.

She was not required to enter a plea.

Police were called to a house in the suburb of Madeley around 6pm on Friday 25 October and discovered the bodies of the girls inside.
Two and a half hours later, Ms Djurasovic was located at a nearby beach with non-life threatening, self-inflicted injuries and was taken to hospital.

The case has been adjourned until November 27.
