Peru Six cleared over death of doorman

Six Australian who became suspects in the 2012 death of a hotel doorman in Peru have been cleared almost five years after the incident in Lima.

* Peru Six advised they won't be prosecuted but remain tight-lipped in case Mr Rodriguez's family appeals

SEPTEMBER 20, 2016

* Group notified by lawyers and the Australian government no appeal has been submitted

OCTOBER 8, 2016

* The Australians go public after receiving final advice in writing there's been no appeal by family

* They issue statement on Facebook: "Today, we feel overwhelming relief as we close this chapter of our lives and finally move on."
