Ex-Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s former chief of staff, Peta Credlin, is set to become an on-air political commentator, unconfirmed reports say.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Ms Credlin is in talks to join Sky News’ coverage of the upcoming federal election, utilising her 16 years of insight in the political world.

It is believed the terms of her contract are currently being negotiated, with staff at Sky News still in the dark about the developments.

Ms Credlin has recently dominated the headlines, most recently coming under fire in a controversial tell-all book, The Road to Ruin, which hinted at an affair between her and Mr Abbott.

Ms Credlin slammed the rumours as “vicious and malicious”.
