Petrol bomb found near WA childcare centre

A molotov cocktail has been found near a childcare centre in suburban Perth.

A suspicious item, believed to be a molotov cocktail, has been found near a Perth childcare centre. (AAP)

Bomb squad technicians have been called, with a suspicious item, believed to be a molotov cocktail, found metres from a Perth child care centre.

The partially burnt bottle, containing nails, was found shortly before 11am WST on Friday.

The bomb squad was immediately called and set up a cordon around the area in Cherry Court, Morley.

It is not known whether the centre has been deliberately targeted.
