Pick Moylan and Tedesco for NSW: Woods

Blues prop Aaron Woods has backed James Tedesco to play alongside Matt Moylan for NSW in State of Origin III.

NSW State of Origin prop Aaron Woods believes there's enough space for Matt Moylan and James Tedesco in the Blues' team for game three.

Tedesco continued his irresistible push for an Origin berth with another impressive performance on Saturday night in the Wests Tigers' 34-26 NRL win over Penrith.

In his first battle with Moylan, Tedesco claimed a points decision over his NSW rival with two crucial try assists either side of halftime that broke the game wide open.

However, the incumbent Blues' No.1 also put his stamp on the game, setting up a two-try lead for the Panthers inside the opening 20 minutes before the Tigers took over.

At ANZ Stadium, Tedesco ran 135 metres on 15 carries compared to Moylan's 47 metres off 13 runs.

Tedesco added a line break and an offload in the win, while Moylan tallied two offloads, a line break and line-break assist in a losing outfit.

Woods reckons there's room for both players to be named on Monday by Blues coach Laurie Daley.

"I don't see why not. The way Teddy's playing has been unbelievable," he said.

"At the end of the day, Laurie's the coach. What I say doesn't mean anything. He's done his job no harm today with the way he's played.

"The only reason he wasn't there was he was injured at the start, but he's come back with a really good attitude and made a massive difference to our squad since he's been back."

Asked what Tedesco would bring to the NSW team, Woods said: "Depends where they play him. It's a tough one. Moylan's done a tough job there. I'm not going to bag one of my teammates."

Tigers coach Jason Taylor wasn't a fan of Tedesco being selected on the wing.

"That'll be a silly decision in my opinion," he said.

"He doesn't need me pushing his barrel anymore. It's clear - you only had to watch that game. He's a class act and he deserves to be in the NSW team in my opinion."
