Pickett sidelined for three months in AFL

Carlton speedster Jarrod Pickett needs surgery after suffering a wrist fracture at training.

Carlton small forward Jarrod Pickett will be out of AFL action for three months after suffering a wrist fracture at training.

The injury happened on Thursday afternoon and scans have shown he needs surgery.

"At this stage, we believe Jarrod will be ruled out for the next three months," Blues football boss Andrew McKay said.

The speedster played 10 games last year in his AFL debut season.
