Collingwood have suffered a double blow with Dayne Beams joining Taylor Adams on the injury list ahead of the Magpies' AFL clash with arch-rivals Carlton.

The pair depart the side that handsomely defeated Port Adelaide last week and are replaced by Rupert Wills and Chris Mayne, who has recovered from a back fracture suffered in his 200th match.

The Blues have been bolstered by the returns from injury of Matthew Kreuzer, Will Setterfield and Mitch McGovern for Saturday's encounter at the MCG but lose important defender Liam Jones, who was rushed to hospital with concussion in the loss to North Melbourne.

In a major selection shock, Hawthorn have dumped former skipper Jarryd Roughead for Sunday's match against GWS at the MCG, with star recruit Chad Wingard also out injured.

James Frawley is a chance to take on Giants forward Jeremy Cameron after he was named in an extended squad that will be trimmed on Friday.

GWS, third on the ladder with a 5-2 record, have been boosted by the returns of co-captain Phil Davis, Josh Kelly and Dawson Simpson.

Round eight kicks off at the SCG on Friday night, with the last-placed Swans still without Lance Franklin when Essendon visit.

Colin O'Riordan replaces an injured Harry Cunningham for Sydney, while the Bombers regain Orazio Fantasia and rest Joe Daniher, with Mark Baguley omitted.

Former Hawk Matthew Suckling returns for the Western Bulldogs at the expense of Tory Dickson for Saturday's clash with Brisbane in Ballarat.

Harris Andrews and Zac Bailey are in for the Lions, who dropped Lewis Taylor and Josh Walker.

Melbourne co-captain Jack Viney is back from injury as the Demons look to build on their win over Hawthorn against Gold Coast.

Pearce Hanley, Lachie Weller, Sean Lemmens and Jack Lukosius have been included in the Suns' line-up for Saturday's clash at Metricon Stadium.

Adelaide have regained small defender Luke Brown but lost Bryce Gibbs to a back injury for their derby with Port Adelaide on Saturday night.

The Power will be without co-captains Ollie Wines and Tom Jonas, as well as concussed veteran Brad Ebert, and have recalled Matthew Broadbent, Steven Motlop, Aidyn Johnson and Kane Farrell.

St Kilda have added Nathan Brown, Luke Dunstan and Ed Phillips as they look to get a win over West Coast at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night.

Jake Waterman is in for the reigning premiers, who dropped Chris Masten.

In Sunday squads that will be further trimmed, Joel Selwood and Zach Tuohy have been named for Geelong, with North Melbourne adding Luke Davies-Uniacke and Sam Durdin for the Marvel Stadium encounter.

Premiership players David Astbury and Dan Butler are in for Richmond but Daniel Rioli and Nick Vlastuin are out of the clash with Fremantle at Optus Stadium.

Sean Darcy and Brennan Cox are among the inclusion for the Dockers.
