Pies unsure on Pendlebury's AFL return

Collingwood are yet to determine how long skipper Scott Pendlebury's broken finger will sideline him for.

Collingwood skipper Scott Pendlebury's return date remains unknown after he underwent surgery on a broken finger.

The veteran midfielder had a pin and small plate inserted in the finger on Monday night and won't play in Sunday's clash with West Coast, but it's unclear how much longer he will be sidelined for.

"It is a good result, but perhaps a little bit more is going on in there than was first thought, once the surgeon opened him up," Magpies football boss Geoff Walsh said on Tuesday.
