Kevin Pietersen says England's Ashes triumph shows Andrew Strauss was right to drop him ahead of the home series against Australia.
England's director of cricket dumped the big-hitting, maverick batsman over a "massive trust issue" which threatened team harmony.
Speaking a month after England regained the Ashes, Pietersen said: "Absolutely, it seems to be the right decision at the moment".
At a Sport Industry Group breakfast in London, Pietersen added that "some of the stuff (Strauss) has done with the England team and getting past players into the dressing room is brilliant".
The 3-2 victory over Australia appears to have ended any hopes of England's all-time leading run-scorer across all formats returning to the international scene. Instead, the South African-born player is focused on Twenty20.
