Pilot and passenger survive WA plane crash

A pilot and his passenger have escaped injury after their plane crashed in WA's eastern goldfields region.

A pilot and his passenger have walked away uninjured after their single-engine plane crashed in Western Australia's eastern goldfields region.

The Cessna crashed into scrub near Boorabbin between Southern Cross and Coolgardie about 4.40pm on Friday, WA Police say.

It was reported to authorities the aircraft suffered mechanical issues and the pilot had attempted to land on the Burra Rock Road, which was about 30 metres away from where the plane came down.

The two men on board were assessed by St John Ambulance paramedics but did not require any medical treatment.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau has been advised and will investigate the incident.
