Pilot dies in Tasmanian plane crash

A pilot has died after crashing his light plane in Devonport, Tasmania.

A 75-year-old pilot has died after his light plane crashed shortly after take-off from Devonport Airport in Tasmania.

Police early on Sunday named the pilot as Milfred Knight from Wesley Vale.

There were no other passengers on board the plane when it crashed near the airport at about 3.45pm on Saturday.
