A Jetstar pilot who expressed safety concerns over the carrier is mounting a legal challenge against his sacking, Fairfax reports.
Joseph Eakins was sacked a month after writing an online opinion piece for Fairfax media criticising Jetstar's "offshore employment strategy".
The budget carrier told the pilot, who had been with the airline since 2007, that his actions had breached the company's code of conduct.

Fairfax reports the Australian and International Pilots Association will challenge the termination under unfair dismissal and freedom-of-association laws.
"I feel like my life has been destroyed for speaking up and telling the truth in a legitimate and measured manner," Mr Eakins told the Sydney Morning Herald.
The pilot's association will hold a press conference addressing the issue at 11am AEDT at Sydney International Airport.
