Hugh Bateman's pink tractor only moves at 30km/h but in a little more than a week he's managed to harvest $160,000 in donations for the McGrath Foundation.

The real estate agent is about halfway through a 2,600km trip from his home town of Mudgee to other parts of NSW.

On Sunday he was greeted by Glenn McGrath, NSW Premier Mike Baird and a swarm of pink-clad nippers at Sydney's Queenscliff Beach.

Mr Bateman said he was inspired to try and raise $250,000 for the foundation because breast cancer is "an insidious disease and has affected so many families".

In ten years the foundation's 105 breast care nurses have supported 36,000 families.

McGrath hopes to help an additional 10,000 families and double the number of nurses within five to 10 years.

"It's been an amazing journey from when we started the McGrath Foundation to where we are now and to see what people do in support," he said.

Premier Baird congratulated Mr Bateman and wished him well for the final leg of his long journey home.

"You look young, fit, and ready to go," Mr Baird said.

Mr Bateman is due to arrive back in Mudgee on October 31.
