Pippa leaves Sydney before prince jets in

Honeymooners Pippa Middleton and new hubby James Matthews have flown out of Sydney after a whirlwind, action-packed stopover.

Pippa Middleton and new hubby James Matthews have jetted out of Sydney as their luxury honeymoon ventures to the Top End.

Middleton, 33, and James Matthews, 41, landed in Sydney on Tuesday night after initially holidaying on a private French Polynesian island following their May 20 wedding in the UK.

After 36 hours in Sydney, the pair boarded a flight to Darwin on Thursday morning, according to media reports.

The newlyweds had an action-packed Wednesday jogging, boating, flying, climbing and dining all over the harbour city.

The keen runners had a morning jog under the Sydney Harbour Bridge before boarding a water taxi which took them past the Opera House to Rose Bay.

There they jumped on a Sydney Seaplanes flight to the secluded Cottage Point Inn on the Hawkesbury River for lunch.

Before dinner at a Habour-side seafood restaurant, Flying Fish, the pair did the popular tourist climb of the Harbour Bridge as the city lit up with the annual Vivid light festival.

For their two nights in Sydney, the newlyweds stayed at the Park Hyatt in The Rocks, which offers panoramic views of the harbour with the suites costing up to $19,000 a night.

After their lavish wedding in the English countryside, in which Pippa's nephew Prince George and niece Princess Charlotte were pageboy and page girl, the couple initially honeymooned at a luxury resort on the French Polynesian island of Tetiaro.

Pippa is the younger sister of Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, while James is a billionaire hedge fund manager and former professional racing car driver whose parents owns a number of properties including the luxury resort Eden Rock, St Baths, on the French Caribbean island of Saint Barthelemy.

Pippa's brother-in-law, Prince Harry, is due in Sydney next week.

Harry will on June 7 officially launch the countdown to the 2018 Invictus Games to be held in Sydney.
