Pistons beat GSW in Curry's NBA return

Stephen Curry has returned to the NBA in the Golden State Warriors' loss to the Detroit Pistons, while the Toronto Raptors and New York Knicks won.

Blake Griffin has scored 26 points as the Detroit Pistons spoiled Stephen Curry's return from injury by beating the Golden State Warriors 111-102 in the NBA.

Curry was back for the defending champions after missing 11 games with a groin strain. He scored 27 points on 10-of-21 shooting, three of nine from three-point range.

"It felt good to be back out there but in the first half I was going 100 miles an hour without my timing being back," he said on Saturday.

"In the second half, I played a lot closer to where I want to be. The shots started falling and I was aggressive without making stupid plays."

Andre Drummond had 16 points and 19 rebounds to help Detroit win their fifth straight and improve to 13-7.

"That's obviously a great win," Griffin said.

Kevin Durant scored 28 points for Golden State and Klay Thompson added 21 as they lost their ninth game this season.

Kawhi Leonard scored 34 points as the Toronto Raptors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 106-95, despite the absence of All-Star guard Kyle Lowry.

Fred VanVleet, Danny Green and Pascal Siakam all added 15 points as an eighth win in succession took Toronto's league-best record to 20-4.

Lowry missed his first game this season with an unspecified back injury as Toronto won their 10th game on the road.

Jordan Clarkson scored 18 points and Tristan Thompson had 18 points and 19 rebounds for the Cavs, who have lost four in a row to be drop to 4-18.

Emmanuel Mudiay scored 28 points to lead the New York Knicks to a 136-134 overtime win over the visiting Milwaukee Bucks.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had 33 points and 19 rebounds for Milwaukee, who have lost three of their past five.

Eric Bledsoe added 27 points while Australian Thon Maker had nine points in about 13 minutes for the Bucks.

Gordon Hayward enjoyed his best game of the season with 30 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in the Boston Celtics' 118-109 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

James Harden made six three-pointers and scored 30 points to help the Houston Rockets overwhelm the Chicago Bulls 121-105.

John Wall scored 30 points and Bradley Beal added 22 in the Washington Wizards' 102-88 win over the Brooklyn Nets.

The Sacramento Kings pipped the Indiana Pacers by one point at home, winning 111-110.
