A Cubana Airlines flight with 68 people on board has reportedly crashed in central Cuba, between Havana and the eastern city of Santiago, with no immediate word on survivors.
The plane "fell to the ground in the region of Guacimal," after the pilot reported an emergency, according to a statement read on state television.
The plane was carrying 40 Cubans and 28 foreigners, according to the report. That included seven crew members, though the nationalities of the foreigners has not been released.
The report said a search for survivors was underway in the area in Sancti Spiritu province, some 300 kilometers (180 miles) from Havana.
