The pilot of a light plane has walked away uninjured after his aircraft crashed at Tasmania's Devonport Airport.

A pilot has escaped uninjured after his plane crashed at a Tasmanian airport.

The Devonport Airport runway is expected to be closed for several hours while the crash is investigated and the plane is recovered.

The pilot was the only person on board.
