Prime Minister Kevin Rudd will be campaigning hard in Queensland again ahead of his meeting with Opposition Leader Tony Abbott in a people's forum.
Queensland is the key to Labor's chances of retaining office with 30 lower house seats, half of which are held with margins of five per cent or lower.
Mr Rudd will be unveiling promises to meet medical needs again, this time launching a $15 million scheme to improve care for people with cancer in regional Australia.
Mr Abbott will leave Victoria to head to Brisbane where he and Mr Rudd square off at a People's Forum at the Bronco Leagues Club.
With another five people drowned after an asylum seeker boat sank, the pair are likely to be queried again about their different plans to stop people smuggling.
The forum, to be broadcast by pay TV channel Sky News, will run for an hour from 6.30pm (AEST).
