PM expresses condolences to Afghanistan

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has expressed Australia's strongest solidarity to the people of Afghanistan following a suicide bombing that killed 80 people.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has expressed Australia's condolences to Afghanistan following the worst terrorist attack in Kabul since 2001.

Islamic State extremists have taken responsibility for the suicide bombing which killed 80 people and injured 230.

"I conveyed our deepest sympathies and strongest solidarity," Mr Turnbull told reporters in Sydney on Monday.
