Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is headed to the White House on day two of his official US visit.
The prime minister will have bilateral talks with President Barack Obama in the Oval Office on Tuesday (US time).
Discussions are expected to canvass global security, military operations to combat Islamic State, trade and strategic issues facing the Asia-Pacific region.
The pair will also bond over their fondness for innovation.
Mr Turnbull will also visit a quantum computing start-up in Washington DC and deliver a keynote economic speech at a chamber of commerce.
He will meet congressional leaders in the afternoon.
