The prime minister is preparing to unveil a $96 million package designed to ease traffic congestion on Perth's roads.
The revamp will see upgrades at three bottleneck areas, allowing commuters to spend less time on the road, and more time with their families.
"That is why we are investing in public transport infrastructure and removing pinch points and bottlenecks will make a real difference to the lives of people living in fast-growing suburbs," Scott Morrison said on Friday.
"This will help families and businesses get back valuable time."
The $96 million package will go towards upgrades at Hazelmere, Alkimos and Kewdale, the widening of the Kwinana and Mitchell Freeways as well as Perth's Smart Freeway, and the construction of a train station at Lakelands on the Mandurah Line.
Urban Infrastructure Minister Alan Tudge said the funding was designed to eliminate congestion issues where they are hurting the most.
"Not only the major freeways but the local pinch points which can provide daily headaches to commuters," he said.
"These investments are about managing the flow of vehicles onto, through and out of the freeway corridors to maximise the network's performance."
Mr Morrison is mid-way through a four-day visit to Western Australia, as the coalition fights to hold onto four seats it can ill afford to lose at the federal election.
He is expected to spend the remainder of his time campaigning in at-risk Liberal-held seats - Pearce, Swan, Canning and Stirling - and also in Cowan, held by Labor's Anne Aly.
