PM: Sydney terror suspect a "lone wolf"

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has refused to comment on further investigations into threats made against his predecessor.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison says a Sri Lankan man arrested for allegedly possessing death threats against his predecessor was acting as a "lone wolf."

Former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull and former foreign minister Julie Bishop were among those reportedly identified as targets by a Sri Lankan man charged in Sydney this week.

"This is a lone-wolf action from this individual which has been caught in a very early phase ... this is another example of how our policies, our support, our initiatives to keep Australians safe continues to work," Mr Morrison told reporters in Jakarta on Saturday.
