Jakarta is ready to welcome Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull when he visits for the first time next week, with the digital and creative economy on the agenda with more traditional areas of trade.
Foreign Affairs spokesman Arrmanatha Nasir says the tech focus of Mr Turnbull's visit is fitting because it's also an interest of President Joko Widodo, who wants Indonesia to be a leader in the region by 2020.
Apart from bilateral issues, the pair is also expected to discuss international and security issues in preparation for the G20, APEC and East Asia summits.
