The coalition may have had a win over company tax cuts, but its popularity has again dropped with Malcolm Turnbull losing ground to Bill Shorten.
Labor extended its two-party lead over the fortnight sitting ahead of the coalition 53 to 47 per cent in the latest Newspoll, published in The Australian on Monday.
The opposition's primary vote rose to sit equal with the coalition on 36 per cent.
Reversing gains from unveiling his plans to expand the iconic Snowy Hydro scheme, Mr Turnbull dipped two percentage points as preferred prime minister and is now leading Mr Shorten 41 to 32 per cent, who rose three points.
One Nation keeps its 10 per cent primary vote, now sharing the standing with the Greens, whose support rose one per cent.
Others fell one percentage point, to 8 per cent.
