Papua New Guinea's Supreme Court is set to rule on five test cases of refugees at the Australian-run Manus Island detention centre.

The refugees are seeking orders to be returned to Australia following an earlier decision that ruled the centre unconstitutional.

The Australian and PNG governments have since been in negotiations for its closure.
