PNG lawyer seeks Australian involvement in centre closure

SBS World News Radio: The lawyer for more than 600 Manus Island detainees will seek a Papua New Guinea Supreme Court order to legally involve Australia in the closure of the centre and take back the refugees and asylum seekers.

PNG lawyer seeks Australian involvement in centre closure

The imprisonment of about 850 men by Australia on Manus for offshore processing was declared illegal by the court earlier this week.

Immigration minister Peter Dutton says none of the men will be allowed into Australia but Port Moresby based lawyer Ben Lomai said he hopes legal action will force a backdown.
