Papua New Guinea's prime minister has joined world leaders in congratulating Donald Trump on his US presidential election victory.

Papua New Guinea's prime minister has congratulated Donald Trump on winning the US presidential election.

Peter O'Neill also paid tribute to the hard fought campaign of Hillary Clinton - a long-standing friend of PNG - who he described as an inspiration for women.

Mr Trump will potentially visit Port Moresby for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in 2018.
