In a series of tweets, the American actor labelled the California Governor a “corporate fascist,” and accused the Centers for Disease Control of being "corrupt."

It comes after Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill requiring all public school children in California to be vaccinated, starting from 2016.

The strict bill also removes vaccination exemptions based on religious beliefs.
"I am not anti-vaccine. I am anti-Thimerosal, anti-mercury. They have taken some of the mercury-laden Thimerosal out of vaccines. NOT ALL," Carrey tweeted.

"The CDC can't solve a problem they helped start. It's too risky to admit they have been wrong about mercury/Thimerasol. They are corrupt."

The legislation comes four months after a measles outbreak hit the state, including an outbreak at Disneyland and aboard a train outside San Francisco.

Following those incidents, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel hit out at anti-vaxxers, including Jenny McCarthy, Carrey's ex-wife, a vocal critic of the Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccine.
