Relatives of Ms Dhu and their supporters have protested outside an inquest in Perth into her death in policy custody.

Police believed Ms Dhu was affected: inquest

An inquest into the death of an Aboriginal woman in West Australian police custody in 2014 is continuing in Perth.

The then 22-year-old woman known as Ms Dhu died after being locked up at South Hedland Police Station over unpaid fines.

Her family and other protesters took the opportunity to make their voices heard outside the hearing.

Ryan Emery is there, and spoke to Kristina Kukolja about the day's events.
