A police car pursuing a motorcyclist who failed to stop has hit a light pole in Sydney's southwest.

Police say the fully marked car struck the median strip then the pole on Heathcote Road at the M5 on-ramp at Moorebank at about 11.35pm on Sunday.

Two officers, a male and a female, were checked at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and allowed to return to duty.
