Northern Territory police have ended their search in Central Australia after the bodies of four young people were found near an abandoned car, saying they are confident there were no more passengers.

The body of a 19-year-old man and woman and a three-year-old boy were found on Wednesday after a Willowra man had raised the alarm when the young family had not been heard from since Friday.

Police searching for a missing 12-year-old boy also believed to be in the car found the body of a child 120 metres from the three family members on Thursday, but he is yet to be formally identified.
