Police are investigating reports of a surfer missing at a bay in Sydney's east.
Emergency services were called to a car park at Gordons Bay, near south Clovelly, about 6.30pm (AEST) on Wednesday after reports a male surfer had vanished.
Police launched a sea and air search for the man, but he couldn't be located.
A witness has told police he saw the surfer leave the water.
The surfer was wearing a black wetsuit with a white print on each shoulder and was on a light blue surfboard, police say.
