Police investigate Victorian woman's death

Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a 74-year-old woman, with an injured man in his 80s under police guard at hospital.

A man in his 80s is under police guard in hospital after an elderly woman's body was found at a Victorian home.

Homicide Squad detectives are at a home in Neerim South in West Gippsland after the 74-year-old woman's body was found about 7pm on Saturday.

An 83-year-old man was found there suffering non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains under police guard.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be established but the death is being treated as suspicious.
