Officers closed Pitt Street between Bathurst and Liverpool Streets from about 2:30am (AEST) until soon after 7:00am on Thursday, as part of an ongoing investigation into the death of 21-year-old Roberto Laudisio Curti.
Mr Laudisio Curti died on March 18, after he was tasered by police in Sydney's CBD.
Police say a critical incident investigation is being conducted and is being independently overseen by the NSW Ombudsman.
