Police have recovered the body of a man who died after he slipped and fell 30-metres down a waterfall in far north Queensland.
The 31-year-old and his female companion had been hiking at the remote Roaring Meg Falls at Bloomfield, north of Cairns, on Sunday evening when he fell into the water below.
The woman hiked through difficult terrain to a ranger's hut, where she called triple-zero about 6.30pm and reported the man was injured.
Emergency services located the woman on Sunday night, but were unable to search for the man due to the lack of light and rough ground.
His body was recovered by helicopter on Monday by crews who returned to search at first light.
