An alleged international drug runner is behind bars after organised crime detectives seized more than 100 kilograms of ice, cocaine and MDMA in Sydney.

The drugs would have fetched the alleged dealer's syndicate some $45 million if they reached the city's streets.

Strikeforce Sharrock arrested the man in South Penrith before dawn on Friday following months of investigating.

A search warrant at a home nearby unearthed 85kg of methylamphetamine - also known as ice - along with 13kg of cocaine and 2kg of MDMA.

A police video of the arrest shows McDonald, clad in high-vis workwear, being lead by detectives into the back of a police van.

Detectives are then seen loading a trolley with bags of drugs in plastic evidence bags.

The man is believed to be a member of a transnational drug syndicate which may be linked to other domestic organised crime groups, AAP understands.

Detective Acting Superintendent Damian Beaufils said Strikeforce Sharrock "is not done yet" when it came to targeting groups importing and producing drugs.

"We know that organised criminal groups are motivated by profit, and the unwavering demand (for drugs) within our community feeds right into their greed - there's no hesitation in exploiting that demand for their own benefit," he said.

The man was charged with multiple counts of commercial drug supply and did not apply for bail when he fronted Parramatta Local Court on Saturday.

He is next expected before Penrith Local Court on September 14.
