South Australian police have seized a quantity of ecstasy and other drugs believed destined for the FOMO music festival in Adelaide.
Acting on a tip-off, officers raided a hotel room in the city's CBD shortly after midday on Sunday, where they allegedly found 26 capsules believed to be MDMA, deal bags of cannabis, a small quantity of cocaine and electronic scales.
A 19-year-old Blakeview woman and 17-year-old Pooraka boy have been charged with trafficking in a controlled drug and will appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court and the Youth Court on 20 February and 7 February.
Their arrest follows that of an 18-year-old man from Whyalla after his car was intercepted and four grams of powdered ecstasy and 10 ecstasy capsules allegedly found in the vehicle.
Police said in a statement they believed the drugs were also intended for sale at Sunday's festival.
With five festivalgoer deaths in Australia in as many months, public debate about the merits of pill testing at music events has been extensive in the new year.
A 20-year-old Victorian man died in hospital on Tuesday following a suspected overdose three days earlier at the Beyond The Valley festival, while a second man in his 20s, cheated death after overdosing at the same event.
A Queensland man, 22, also died after attending the Lost Paradise Music Festival north of Sydney.
