A man has been detained after a security breach at Melbourne Airport, where police were forced to use stun guns.

Police have used stun guns to detain a man during a security breach at Melbourne Airport.

The 30-year-old was arrested by Australian Federal Police officers at the international Terminal 2 on Tuesday after an airline raised the alarm just after midday.

The man is undergoing a mental health assessment and no charges have been laid.
