A man whose western Sydney home was one of two raided by state crime officers says NSW police are wasting money.

Two Merrylands properties - one on Lockwood Street and the other on nearby Blackwood Road - were searched on Wednesday morning under the powers of firearms prohibition orders.

The Alameddine family live in the home on Lockwood St, while the second home is the residence of Osman Haouchar.

Mr Haouchar made the comment as he returned home on Wednesday morning.

"The NSW police are wasting the money of taxpayers," he said, adding that he didn't know why they had come to his home.

Police have confirmed the raids were sparked following a threat to a police station in western Sydney.

The Lockwood Street property was previously targeted in October raids following the terror-related death of police accountant Curtis Cheng.

Talal Alameddine, 22, has been accused of providing the gun used in the fatal shooting of Mr Cheng on October 2.

Alameddine was arrested and released without charge after police raids on October 7.

He was rearrested a week later and charged with supplying the gun, breaching a firearms prohibition order and hindering police.

Alameddine remains in police custody.

Police said "nothing of interest was located" during Wednesday's searches, and no charges have been laid.

Mr Haouchar laughed when asked if a threat had been made to a police station.

Meanwhile, an older man and woman were inside the Lockwood St house during the raid while a younger man walked outside and watched over police as they took his black Jeep to pieces during the search.

Once the raid was over the younger man took off in the Jeep, telling media he didn't want to talk.

"I want nothing to do with you," he told reporters outside his house.
