A drop in Origin's energy prices can be linked to the policies of the South Australian government, the state's energy minister says.
Origin has promised customers in Queensland and South Australia a price cut on power bills of up to four per cent, indicating the drop may be the start of a downward trend.
"It's not unreasonable at all to assume that the market is factoring in the energy policies of the new Marshall government," Dan van Holst Pellekaan told reporters on Tuesday.
