Policy changes on the table: Turnbull

Speaking at a start-up event in Sydney, Malcolm Turnbull said governments should always be agile and alive to the need to shift position based on events.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has further opened the door to the possibility of wide-ranging policy change by saying government plans are "always in beta stage".

Speaking at a start-up event in Sydney, Mr Turnbull said governments should always be agile and alive to the need to shift position if events showed existing policy was not working.

Mr Turnbull did not name any particular policies but again stressed the importance of tax reform and the need to foster a culture of entrepreneurialism to boost the economy.

"Because we are an agile government, we say 'we guarantee this is the best policy idea we have at the moment ... If it can be improved, we'll improve it. If it doesn't work, we'll try something else," Mr Turnbull said.
